Still haven't figured out your plans for the summer? We've put together a list of 9 affordable things you and your friends can do to get the most out of this summer - along with inspiration from French it-girl, Jeanne Damas! We love that you don't have to travel far to enjoy some time off or a vacation with your friends. Most times it's not the places you go that matters, but the people you spend your time with.

1. Go on a Road Trip

Personally, I'm a big fan of road trips, and I would most likely drop everything to join my friends on one. You may call it FOMO. Thinking of road trips we often think about driving all across the country. But it doesn't have to be. If you don't have a lot of time or cash, you can still enjoy the experience of a small one. Tell your friends to pack their bags and bring food, choose a destination, for even just 30 minutes or a few hours, stop at points along the route to stretch your legs, sample cuisine, and see the sights. Enjoy!

2. Go Camping

If you have a lot of time and you’re going on a long road trip to see different places, I would recommend camping along the road. For a lot of us renting hotels isn't in our budget, try camping when you reach different destinations. Enjoy nature and go sightseeing!

3. Watch a Sunrise or Sunset

When the weather is nice, try getting up early to watch the sunrise above your hometown. It's not the kind of experience you might seek in the cold winter months, but it's definitely worth the loss of sleep. If you just need your shut-eye, soak in a gorgeous sunset instead.

4. Arrange Summer games

Bring your friends together for a BBQ and arrange summer games. Mini Olympics, water balloon piñata, sack races, water pistol fight, and treasure hunt are just a few summer games you and your friends can arrange.

5. Star watching

Pack your bag with some warm clothes, bring some food and your friends. There is nothing quite like enjoying the starry sky on a clear summer night. If you live in the city it may be difficult to see the stars because of pollution. So, get in the car and find a spot near an open field and look up at the beautiful night sky.

6. Go To a Concert

For most of us when we think of summer one of the first things that pop up in our minds are festivals. The best part must be that most festivals or parks offer free outdoor concert series during the summer. Grab a picnic blanket, some snacks and relax on the grass while enjoying live music. Think of all the fun you could have, just find out when they're happening and go.

7. Go To The Park or a café by yourself

Enjoy some quality time by yourself and go to the park or sit down at a café. Take some time to observe and reflect. Many of us tend to look forward to the summer and all its relaxing, but for some of us, it never comes to that. We get caught up in all the things that are happening and forgets to take some time off. Taking some real time off now and then, is key for a healthy and happy life in our opinion!

8. Take Pictures

Snap photos of all your summer adventures and make an album — whether digital or physical — to remember them. Even if you’re not good with a camera, this is a perfect chance to get better.
