You recently started your own blog, tell us more about this!
I’ve been interested in food and cooking for as long as I can remember, and my friends & family have always made jokes about the fact that I should start a food-blog. I’ve been playing with that same thought for a few years, and a couple of months ago it went from joke to seriousness as I launched my own blog, Katharinagjesdal.no! I mainly write about food, however there will also be posts about other topics that like, such as interior, flowers, table setting, traveling, beauty and wellness.
On your blog and Instagram we clearly see that you’re a great chef. Have you always loved cooking?
Yes, for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the countryside, and on mye way home from school my sister and I picked cauliflower and made soup with it as an “after school-snack”. Mainly my interest comes from the fact that I love eating good food.
What’s your all time favorite food?
That’s a really hard question to answer. It all depends on what season it is and what tempts that day. However, if I have to choose one thing here and now, it would have to be pasta.
Why is fresh, local & home cooked food important to you?
I'm concerned that what I eat should taste good, but also be good for me. There’s nothing that beats homemade, nourishing and useful food, made from fresh ingredients.
Can you share with us a recipe you love to eat for...
In your opinion, what’s true beauty?
I am absolutely convinced that true beauty comes from within. The most beautiful thing I know is positive people with a good attitude towards life, who dares to be themselves and who are loving towards those around them.
How do you practice self-love?
With the first cup of coffee in the morning, a walk in the woods, music, great food with friends, a good book, and hour of workout at Core Balance - my favorite fitness studio. Also, practicing self-love is for me bying fresh flowers and lots of good food and wine on a Friday.
Can you share the secret to your glowing and healthy skin?
First and foremost, I’m convinced that a healthy diet helps keeping skin and hair fresh. But I'm also very careful about what I lubricate on my face and I know exactly what my skin takes benefit from and not. I love skin care and I swear to my solid products that are mainly from Elixir and Exuviance.
You only have 5 minutes in front of the mirror before you need to head out - what do you do?
I always wash my face with cold water, apply day cream, add a tinted moisturizer if needed, brush my brows, apply a transparent lip gloss with plenty of moisture and finish with a mist. Either from Kora or Caudalie.
